.. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT ..
An article from Social Business Academia Conference
The Social Business Academia Conference (SBAC) returns for its 13th edition as a premier international platform dedicated to advancing the concept and practice of Social Business—a transformative framework pioneered by Nobel Peace Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus. Rooted in the core principle of solving human problems through sustainable, non-dividend business models, social business redefines the role of capital and human creativity to foster systemic global change.

In a global landscape marked by rising inequality, climate fragility, economic displacement, and social conflict, the imperative to cultivate sustainable peace has never been more urgent. SBAC 2026 focuses on Building Cultures of Peace through Research and Education, recognizing that true peace is not merely the absence of conflict, but the presence of socio-economic justice, equal opportunity, and ecological stability.
SBAC 2026 will be held in Thailand 25–26 November 2026, co-organized by the Yunus Centre and Yunus Center AIT. Hosted in Thailand—a global beacon of peace and resilience—this year’s conference highlights the crucial role of academic research, higher education, and social business models in peacebuilding, conflict mitigation, and achieving the 3ZERO Vision: zero net carbon emissions, zero wealth concentration to end poverty, and zero unemployment through entrepreneurship.
SBAC 2026 welcomes contributions from scholars, practitioners, activists, and professionals to present emerging trends, empirical research, and real-world applications of social business in advancing global peace and human security.
