At the opening ceremony, UPSLP Rector Néstor Eduardo Garza Álvarez highlighted the importance of educational institutions actively participating in creating spaces that allow for reflection on social challenges and the strengthening of values such as respect, inclusion, dialogue, and coexistence.

The gathering was attended by state authorities and representatives from educational institutions—including the State Government’s Secretary of Public Security, Jesús Juárez Hernández—as well as members of organizations and agencies related to security, human rights, equality, and education.

Representatives from higher and upper-secondary education institutions were also present, reinforcing the national and inter-institutional nature of the event. By hosting the 2026 National Forum on the Culture of Peace, the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí reaffirms its commitment to a holistic education that extends beyond the classroom and contributes to building communities where respect, dialogue, inclusion, and participation serve as tools to address societal challenges.

In this regard, the institution aligns itself with the “Education Without Limits” vision championed by the administration of Ricardo Gallardo, promoting an education that creates opportunities and contributes to the well-being and development of San Luis Potosí.
