Hello, Minnesota!<\/p>\n

It’s turning into a beautiful day!<\/p>\n

This past winter, federal troops brought death and terror to the streets of Minneapolis.<\/p>\n

Well, they picked the wrong city!<\/p>\n

The power and the solidarity of the people of Minneapolis and of Minnesota was an inspiration to the entire country.<\/p>\n

Your strength and your commitment told us that this is still America! <\/p>\n

And this reactionary nightmare and these invasions of America’s cities will not stand.<\/p>\n

You gave us hope! You gave us courage!<\/p>\n

And for those who gave their lives, Renee Good, mother of three, brutally murdered, Alec Pretti, VA nurse, executed by ICE, shot in the back and left to die in the street without even the decency of our lawless government investigating their deaths.<\/p>\n

Their bravery, their sacrifice, and their names will not be forgotten.<\/p>\n

Through the winter\u2019s ice and cold
\nDown Nicollet Avenue
\nA city aflame fought fire and ice
\n\u2018Neath an occupier\u2019s boots
\nKing Trump\u2019s private army from the DHS
\nGuns belted to their coats
\nCame to Minneapolis to enforce the law
\nOr so their story goes
\nAgainst smoke and rubber bullets
\nBy the dawn\u2019s early light
\nCitizens stood for justice
\nTheir voices ringing through the night
\nAnd there were bloody footprints
\nWhere mercy should have stood
\nAnd two dead left to die on snow-filled streets
\nAlex Pretti and Renee Good.<\/p>\n

\nAnd these whistles and phones
\nAgainst Miller and Noem\u2019s dirty lies<\/p>\n

Now they say they\u2019re here to uphold the law
\nBut they trample on our rights
