HUMAN RIGHTS .<\/p>\n<p>An article by Jessica Corbett in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commondreams.org\/news\/no-kings-2026\">Common Dreams<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As President\u00a0Donald Trump\u00a0on Wednesday continued to\u00a0wage war\u00a0on Iran,\u00a0threaten\u00a0Cuba, and\u00a0push\u00a0his mass deportation agenda across the\u00a0United States, people nationwide were preparing for the next round of No Kings\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.commondreams.org\/tag\/protests\">protests\u00a0<\/a> on Saturday,\u00a0March 28.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/NoKings-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/NoKings-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"589\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-39231\" srcset=\"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/NoKings-1.png 900w, https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/NoKings-1-300x196.png 300w, https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/NoKings-1-768x503.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nPeople participate in a \u201cNo Kings\u201d national day of protest in Boston, Massachusetts, on October 18, 2025.\u00a0(Photo by Joseph Prezioso \/ AFP via Getty Images)<\/center><\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust months ago, millions of people took to the streets across thousands of events to say no to Trump\u2019s abuses of power, and today that movement is only growing,\u201d noted Ezra Levin, co-executive director of Indivisible, one of the organizing groups, in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>There were more than 2,100 demonstrations during the coalition\u2019s first day of action last June. Then, over 2,700 events were held last October. As of Wednesday, just 10 days away from the upcoming mobilization, more than 3,000 events are planned.<\/p>\n<p>The ralllies will follow Trump\u2019s deployment of agents with Customs and Border Protection as well as\u00a0Immigration\u00a0and Customs Enforcement to Minnesota\u2019s Twin Cities\u2014where CBP and ICE fatally shot two Minnesotans and violated the rights of many more. Local protests and national outrage led to a drawdown, but critics\u00a0fear\u00a0similar invasions of other US cities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith every ICE raid, every escalation abroad, and every abuse of power at home, Americans are rising up in opposition to Trump\u2019s attempt to rule through fear and force. Each day Trump crosses a new red line, and more people are deciding they\u2019ve had enough,\u201d said Levin. \u201cThat is why people across the country are organizing, showing up for their neighbors, and making one thing unmistakably clear: We are done with the\u00a0corruption, the cruelty, and the\u00a0authoritarianism.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Naveed Shah, political director of Common Defense, highlighted that while \u201cwe\u2019ve watched citizens killed in the streets by militarized forces\u201d in recent months, the\u00a0Trump administration\u00a0has also \u201cdragged us deeper into war: sending brave American service members into harm\u2019s way and leaving their families to carry the weight of that loss.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to partnering with Israel to launch a war of choice in Iran, Trump this year has\u00a0sent\u00a0US forces to abduct Venezuelan President Nicol\u00e1s Maduro,\u00a0deployed\u00a0troops to\u00a0Ecuador\u00a0for a joint campaign against \u201cnarco-terrorists,\u201d continued to\u00a0bomb boats\u00a0allegedly trafficking drugs in international waters, and\u00a0engaged in\u00a0\u201ceconomic warfare\u201d against Cuba while repeatedly\u00a0threatening\u00a0to take over the island.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn March 28, we will come together to show that our communities reject corruption, senseless war, and division,\u201d declared MoveOn Civic Action executive director Katie Bethell.<\/p>\n<p>(Article continued in the right column)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: right; width: 46%;\">Questions related to this article:\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: right; width: 46%;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"float: right; width: 46%;\">\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<p><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/?p=7795\">The struggle for human rights, is it gathering force in the USA?<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(Article continued from the left column)<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/NoKings-1b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/NoKings-1b-226x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"226\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-39232\" srcset=\"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/NoKings-1b-226x300.jpg 226w, https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/NoKings-1b-773x1024.jpg 773w, https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/NoKings-1b-768x1018.jpg 768w, https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/NoKings-1b.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 226px) 100vw, 226px\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Human Rights\u00a0Campaign President Kelley Robinson similarly said that \u201cmillions of us will come together to reject the attacks on\u00a0LGBTQ+ people, the deadly occupation of our cities, and the assaults on our freedoms and demand a nation that lives up to its promise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other advocacy and labor groups in the No Kings coalition include the ACLU, American Federation of Teachers (AFT), 50501, League of Conservation Voters, National Education Association, National Nurses United,\u00a0Public Citizen, Service Employees International Union, and United We Dream.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis unprecedented mobilization is the American people saying NO to President Trump\u2019s violent, inhumane treatment of our immigrant neighbors, attacks on our freedom of speech and voting rights, and the weaponization of the federal government,\u201d said Deirdre Schifeling, the ACLU\u2019s chief political and advocacy officer.<\/p>\n<p>At Trump\u2019s direction, Senate\u00a0Republicans\u00a0are\u00a0trying\u00a0to send the so-called SAVE America Act, a voter suppression bill already approved by the GOP-controlled House of Representatives, to the president\u2019s desk. Opponents\u00a0warn\u00a0that the legislation would disenfranchise eligible voters who lack access to proof-of-citizenship documents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrump has promoted violence, hatred, lawlessness, and chaos across the country, proving time and time again that he is not a leader,\u201d argued Public Citizen co-president Lisa Gilbert. \u201cAs we approach our country\u2019s 250th birthday, we urge all fellow Americans to join the No Kings movement as a show of patriotism and a vision of the country we deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Next week\u2019s protests are scheduled just over seven months before the November\u00a0midterm elections, which will determine whether Trump\u2019s\u00a0Republican Party\u00a0keeps control of Congress. The\u00a0GOP\u00a0has used its slim majorities in both chambers to impose a 2025\u00a0budget\u00a0package\u2014the One Big Beautiful Bill Act\u2014to pass new tax giveaways to the ultrawealthy while cutting key federal food and\u00a0healthcare\u00a0benefits for working-class Americans.<\/p>\n<p>As billionaires enjoy some\u00a0benefits\u00a0of GOP policies, working people across the country are\u00a0struggling\u00a0with the cost of gasoline, groceries, healthcare, housing, and more. Trump\u2019s\u00a0contested tariffs\u00a0and\u00a0war\u00a0on\u00a0Iran\u00a0are exacerbating the affordability crisis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmerica is at an inflection point. Our communities are hurting. People are afraid, and they can\u2019t afford basic necessities.
