A letter from the The President of the UN General Assembly<\/a><\/p>\n

To all permanent representatives and permanent observers to the United Nations New York<\/p>\n

Further to my letter dated 27 July 2015 on the convening of a High-Level Forum on a culture of Peace on 9 September 2015 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, I have the pleasure to transmit herewith a Concept Note with more details.<\/p>\n

\"HLF\"<\/a><\/center><\/p>\n

As the international community moves toward the adoption of a transformative post-2015 development agenda by world leaders at a Summit in September 2015, the important linkage between peace and development has been underscored in the Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n

The High-Level Forum will highlight the importance of implementation of the Declaration and Programme of Action on a Culture of Peace and the need to further strengthen global movements to promote a culture of peace.<\/p>\n

I have the honor to invite Member States and Observers to participate at the highest possible level. A provisional program will be provided in due course.<\/p>\n

Please accept the assurances of my highest consideration.<\/p>\n
