SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT .. <\/p>\n<p>An article from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcj.go.cr\/sala-de-prensa\/noticias\/ministerio-de-cultura-y-juventud-lanzo-concurso-canto-de-paz-para-el-oceano\">Ministerio de Cultura y Juventud\u00a0de Costa Rica<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Music is a powerful tool to generate change; that is why the Ministry of Culture and Youth (MCJ) has launched the \u201cSong of Peace for the Ocean\u201d contest, so that a Costa Rican artist can compose the music for this hymn to the ocean.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tnNiWkayHLQ&#038;t=14s\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/song.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"507\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-35935\" srcset=\"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/song.jpg 900w, https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/song-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/song-768x433.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><br \/>\nvideo of the contest<\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The Government of the Republic of Costa Rica, through the Ministry of Culture and Youth (MCJ), assumes the commitment to the environment and the culture of peace, extended to human relations with the ocean, to encourage good conservation and protection practices.<\/p>\n<p>This is the goal of promoting Costa Rican musical composition, a song in an orchestral format with a choir which will be performed by MCJ artists, within the framework of the Third United Nations Conference on the Ocean (UNOC), tol be held in June 2025, in Nice, France.<\/p>\n<p>(Click <a href=\"http:\/\/spanish.cpnn-world.org\/?p=11368\">here for the original article in Spanish<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>(Article continued in the right column)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: right; width: 46%;\"><strong>Questions for this article:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div style=\"float: right; width: 46%;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"float: right; width: 46%;\">\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<p><strong><em> <a href=\"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/?p=11519\">What is the relation between the environment and peace<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/?p=7510\">What place does music have in the peace movement?<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(Article continued from the left column)<\/p>\n<p>This goal will be achieved with the support of the La Libertad Metropolitan Park Foundation, the collaboration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Religion, the Ministry of Environment and Energy and the Costa Rican Institute of Tourism.<\/p>\n<p>Given the relevance of the aforementioned conference, the Ministry of Culture and Youth will contribute with an artistic-cultural contribution through the presentation of the \u201cSong of Peace for the Ocean.\u201d This work will be performed by the Costa Rican Youth Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony Choir of Costa Rica, highlighting Costa Rica&#8217;s cultural heritage and musical heritage.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative is part of joint actions to conserve and protect the marine environment, as part of the \u201cDeclaration of Peace for the Ocean\u201d that was signed by ministers, government representatives, members of civil society, the academic and scientific community, as well as other stakeholders, at the high-level event on \u201cOcean Action: Immersed in Change\u201d, which took place in San Jos\u00e9, Costa Rica, from June 7 to 8, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cSong of Peace for the Ocean\u201d proposes to bring together instruments and voices to motivate the global movement for a more sustainable management of marine resources.<\/p>\n<p>Please see the participation rules <a href=\"https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/3hr54v5b\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Proposals meeting the eligibility requirements will be received from October 9 to 25, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;  &#8211;  &#8211;  &#8211;  &#8211;  &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>If you wish to make a comment on this article, you may write to coordinator@cpnn-world.org with the title &#8220;Comment on (name of article)&#8221; and we will put your comment on line.
