They will not be allowed to continue working as journalists in the People\u2019s Republic of China, including its Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The statement continues by hinting at further \u201creciprocal measures against American journalists\u201d in response to \u201cdiscriminatory restrictions\u201d on Chinese journalists.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, China\u00a0expelled three\u00a0WSJ\u00a0journalists\u00a0over an opinion that called the country \u201cthe real sick man of Asia.\u201d The piece focused on China\u2019s failed attempts to stop the coronavirus before it became a global pandemic, and it was decried as \u201cmalicious slander\u201d by a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FREE FLOW OF INFORMATION An article by\u00a0Ken Meyer in Mediaite reprinted according to Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial License for non-commercial reproduction with credit to the source site.
