Gandhi changed the course of human history. His non-violent protest for freedom inspired civil-rights movements across the globe. The Gandhian philosophy influenced and changed the course of movements led by civil rights leaders such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr in the United States of America, Nelson Mandela in South Africa and that of Cesar Chavez, a labor leader and Latino American civil rights activist who founded the United Farm Workers Union.<\/p>\n<p>WBEZ\u2019s Worldview, along with Gandhi Commemorative Stamp Initiative, India Development Service (IDS) and United for Peace (U4P) will bring together academicians and descendants of some of history\u2019s greatest peace leaders who acknowledged Gandhi\u2019s influence on their lives and social actions. Chicago welcomes\u00a0Ela Gandhi\u00a0granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi,\u00a0Anthony Chavez\u00a0grandson of Cesar Chavez,\u00a0MLK III\u00a0son of Martin Luther King Jr.,\u00a0\u00a0Maki Mandela\u00a0daughter of Nelson Mandela,\u00a0Prof. Carlson, and Dr. Prasad.
