width: 46%;\">\n<p>FREE FLOW OF INFORMATION<\/p>\n<p>Luanda Biennale: Pan-African Forum for the Culture of Peace<\/p>\n<p>An article from <a href=\"https:\/\/en.unesco.org\/biennaleluanda2019\">UNESCO<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In Africa, the concept of the\u00a0Culture of Peace is enriched by the values, belief systems, traditions, and cultural and artistic forms of expression that contribute to the respect of human rights, cultural diversity, solidarity and the rejection of violence to build democratic societies.\u00a0The Biennale for the\u00a0Culture of Peace draws\u00a0from Pan-African Forum \u201cSources and Resources for a Culture of Peace\u201d held in Luanda, Angola, in 2013, and aims to expand and sustain the Pan-African Movement for the\u00a0Culture of Peace and Non-Violence.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Luanda.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Luanda.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"559\" height=\"374\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15955\" srcset=\"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Luanda.jpg 559w, https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Luanda-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 559px) 100vw, 559px\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The first edition of the Pan-African Forum for the Culture of Peace, Biennale of Luanda, will be held in the Angolan capital from 18 to 22 September 2019.<br \/>\nThis continental initiative is intended to serve as:\u00a0<br \/>\nA global platform for the promotion of cultural diversity and African unity;<\/p>\n<p>A venue of international and intra-African cultural exchanges;<\/p>\n<p>A special meeting that brings together \u2013 every two years \u2013 actors and partners of a Pan-African movement for the prevention of violence and conflict, and the consolidation of peace;<\/p>\n<p>An opportunity to build sustainable partnerships between governments, civil society, the private sector, the artistic and scientific community, academic institutions, and international organizations.\u00a0<br \/>\n(Continued in right column)<\/p>\n<p>(Click <a href=\"http:\/\/french.cpnn-world.org\/?p=7521\">here for a French version <\/a> of this article.)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: right; width: 46%;\">Question related to this article:<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: right; width: 46%;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"float: right; width: 46%;\">\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<p><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/?p=22880\"> The Luanda Biennale: What is its contribution to a culture of peace in Africa <\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/?p=11285\">Will UNESCO once again play a role in the culture of peace?<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>(Continued from left column)<\/p>\n<p>The Biennale also aims to give a voice to African women and young people and to facilitate the launch of public awareness campaigns as part of the World Day of Peace (21 September).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Biennale is organized around four main axes:<br \/>\nForum of Ideas and Youth Forum: two platforms of reflection on the future of Africa, focusing on the dissemination of good practices and solutions for the prevention of crises, and the resolution and attenuation of conflicts;<\/p>\n<p>Festival of Cultures: promotion of cultural diversity and resilience capacity to conflicts and violence in African countries and the Diaspora;<\/p>\n<p>Cultures and Sports Alliance for Peace:\u00a0gathering of international cultural, sport and music events for peace advocacy;\u00a0<br \/>\n\u2028<br \/>\nPartners\u2019 Alliance for the Culture of Peace in Africa: encouraging the mobilization of resources and partners to support the Biennale and developing on a larger scale projects and initiatives that have proven successful on the African continent.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nTHE BIENNALE OF LUANDA IN FEW WORDS&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>An African encounter for peace:<br \/>\nA platform for promoting cultural diversity and African unity<\/p>\n<p>A place conducive to international and intra-African cultural exchanges<\/p>\n<p>A special meeting that brings together\u00a0actors and partners of a Pan-African movement for the culture of peace:<\/p>\n<p>Governments;<br \/>\nCivil society;<br \/>\nArtistic and scientific community;<br \/>\nPrivate sector;<br \/>\nInternational organizations.<br \/>\n5 days every two years in Luanda, capital of Angola, around four\u00a0poles:<br \/>\nForum of ideas \/ Youth Forum\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Festival of cultures<\/p>\n<p>Cultures and Sports Alliance<\/p>\n<p>Partners&#8217;
