{"id":752,"date":"2015-03-20T14:05:04","date_gmt":"2015-03-20T18:05:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cpnn-world.org\/temp\/?page_id=752"},"modified":"2025-10-03T19:26:00","modified_gmt":"2025-10-03T17:26:00","slug":"global-movement","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/?page_id=752","title":{"rendered":"Global Movement for a Culture of Peace"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<div class=\"page style\" style=\"width:80%;\">\n<big><a href=\"http:\/\/french.cpnn-world.org\/resolutions\/resA-53-243B.html\">The Declaration and Programme of Action for a Culture of Peace <\/a>, adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1999 included the following statement: &#8220;Partnerships between and among the various actors as set out in the Declaration should be encouraged and strengthened for a global movement for a culture of peace.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Global Movement for a Culture of Peace is advancing, according to accounts from all regions of the world. This was the conclusion from information submitted by over 1000 organizations taking part in the <a href=\"http:\/\/decade-culture-of-peace.org\">World Report on the Culture of Peace<\/a>, which was submitted to the United Nations for its plenary discussion at the end of the International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-violence for the Children of the World (2001-2010). This report provided a comprehensive view of the progress of the Global Movement. The advance comes despite almost total neglect from the mass media, according to most accounts from all regions. <\/p>\n<p>The Global Movement got off to a good start during the UN International Year for the Culture of Peace. This was described, at the time, on the <a href=\"http:\/\/decade-culture-of-peace.org\/iycp\/iycp-uk\/uk_sum_monde.htm\">world information board <\/a> which provided links to 1,196 actors in the International Year, including 219 international organizations and 977 local and national actors. It also provided a link to details on who had gathered the 75 million signatures that were obtained on the Manifesto 2000 in India, Brazil, Colombia and other countries.<\/p>\n<p>CPNN-WORLD provides a daily update on the <a href=\"https:\/\/cpnn-world.org\">continuing development of the Global Movement<\/a>, including <a href=\"https:\/\/english.cpnn-world.org\/?page_id=805\">monthly bulletins <\/a> since 2011.
